The Love, with Starr and Olexy, opens near Rittenhouse Square
Wednesday, Nov. 8 is the soft opening of The Love, a dramatic revamp of the former Serafina at 18th and Sansom Streets.
It’s now a low-lit cafe charmer with tufted banquettes and well-spaced tables.
Aimee Olexy and Stephen Starr, who also run Talula’s Garden and Talula’s Daily, turned to New York design firm Roman & Williams (Le Coucou, Upland) to achieve a relaxed sophistication that extends to the bar tucked cleverly off the main entrance.
Chef Joshua Tomaszewski (A Voce in New York) has built an American menu off of seasonal and local ingredients. Dinner daily will be offered at first, followed by lunch and brunch.
I’ll post the opening menu when it’s released.

It’s running dinner only from 5 p.m. Lunch is at least two weeks away.
For now, the house is handling walk-ins and limited reservations at 215-433-1555.
OpenTable will be looped in on Monday, Starr said.
